Our
Association
Lowell Damon Woods Neighborhood
Association Inc. is a non-profit organization of volunteers
from the neighborhood. We organized in 1995, the same year as many of
the more than 20 neighborhood associations in
Wauwatosa. We elect a board of directors at an
annual all-neighborhood meeting and the board elects its
officers. Board meetings are
held on the second Saturday of January, March, May, July,
September, and November and are open to all neighbors. Members pay annual dues.

Our
Aim
We bring neighbors together and try to give the
neighborhood a better sense of identity. We encourage civic
involvement, but we strive to remain apolitical. We also
encourage formation of block watch groups that work with the
police department to keep this a safe and crime-free
neighborhood.

Our
Name
We named our neighborhood for Lowell Damon, a pioneer settler
of Wauwatosa whose home at 2107 Wauwatosa Ave. is the oldest
in the city. Part of that house is a museum owned by the
Milwaukee County Historical Society. It's open to the public
from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays and 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Much of the land in our neighborhood belonged to the Damon
family.
