Saturday, June 5 marked the opening day of a new weekly farmers market for Wauwatosa. The Tosa Farmers Market (TFM) runs every Saturday through October 31. It’s located on the Hart's Mills parking lot, across the river from Chancery and Cafe Hollander in the Village of Wauwatosa.
The TFM is more than just a place to buy fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers -- it's a community gathering spot. Hundreds of people visit the market between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon, patronizing nearly forty vendors of delicious fresh and prepared foods, mingling with friends and neighbors, and enjoying the morning's live music, and chef demonstrations. |

Dear Miss Dame O' the Woods, Summer’s almost over and I haven’t thrown a party yet. Is it too late? How do I tactfully “throw together” an end-of-summer gathering? Are people just too busy? -Late Bloomer Dear Late Bloomer – It’s never too late (or too early, depending on your glass full or glass empty mentality!) for a fabulous party. And if you have children returning to school – or operate on an “academic year” schedule – a September party is a great idea. The weather’s still warm, chances are people won’t be travelling, and, well – summer doesn’t officially end until the third week of September, so while Miss Dame doesn’t advise you to wear white, you can still celebrate in summer style. (Not to mention it’s a last hurrah for those swingy summer sun dresses, as long as they’re not white!) Here are a few tips to heed in your party planning, if you haven’t already: From hosting the perfect BBQ, to attending a pool party, to staying as a houseguest, manners are essential...especially if you want to get invited back! |
